1000/10!! Everything was beyond amazing! The restruant was very cozy and the waitresses and waitors were all so very kind and wonderful personalities! They were amazing. The food was so scrumptious everything I ate was beyond exceptional! I loved everything I ate no disappointments. Overall my experience here was amazing and I would love to come back!

Excellent service, our waitress was super attentive- she answered our questions and checked in frequently, and was super sweet and friendly. She also grabbed me a ton of to go boxes, which I really appreciated ahaa, we way over-ordered. Amazing restaurant, also the food quality was excellent, the menu is massive, there's a great happy hour and the vibe is based. We went at noon on a Friday and it was pretty empty but it's picking up now that we're leaving. Highly recommend the salmon collar on the happy hour menu, it's only 7.59 before 6pm and tasted like it's $20. My mom was paying but honestly wish I coulda doubled the tip ahh! Will be back when I can!! <3

Ate here with friends after our Pokemon Go event. The staff are so nice and friendly! In addition to the great tasting food (orders ranging from sushi to ramen), they were really kind and generous to our table! We came with a Fennekin plush and they set him up really nice with us!

I finally visited Sushi Kanpai after it had been on my list for a while, and I’m glad I did. I happened to be nearby (it’s right next door to O’Brien’s, the NY Giants bar, even though the team hasn’t been relevant for about 15 years), and I was able to get a reservation at the sushi bar. Surprisingly, the bar was almost empty at 7 pm on a Saturday, which actually made the experience feel relaxed and personal. The menu had many items I already love and a few I hadn’t tried before. Prices are definitely higher than what I’m used to, but it’s Santa Monica and the quality is strong, so it felt fair. I considered doing omakase, not sure if they officially offer it, but ended up ordering a series of nigiri pieces. Food highlights: - Shoraku ponzu appetizer — delicious, bright, and something I hadn’t had before. - Nigiri: King salmon, Kinmedai, Tai, Kurodai, Shima Aji, Ikura, Chu-toro, Ocean Trout, Tamago - Negitoro cut roll House cold sake carafe (server offered a tasting of two premium sakes, but they were a bit too pricey for me) Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and honestly better than I expected. July 2025 We had a very nice dinner here on a Tuesday night. Wasabi was our server, and was good attentive and made us laugh. We were introduced to the owner, Miho, who graciously gave us a sample of special chilled Japanese sake. We ordered a few things from the sushi bar, like the Hokkaido scallops which were beautifully presented and melted in your mouth. The amberjack was also devine! My husband enjoyed the Volcano Ramen which is spicy good. I love their battera sushi, salmon skin salad and vegetable tempura! Thank you Wasabi and Miho for a wonderful evening!
